The 6th grade students read multiple stories to learn background information, researched several different countries developing a country research essay, developed a 3D symbol, and designed/programed a country float.

All four Washington Chess teams qualified for the Indiana State Finals!  In the 6th and under section, the team of Nicholas Katris, Theodore Katris, Drew Ryser, and Aiden Carr were crowned Regional CHAMPS.  The team of Jason Benyouski, Nate Anderson, Dylan Barkey, Khareus Miller, and Finn Bailey along with the team of Ruchika Sansuddi, Bhumika Sansuddi, Ali Barkey, and Lucy Ray were also state qualifiers! Joining them at State in the 3rd and under section, Landon Ryser, Makayla Riley, Avary Hoeppner, and AJ Hepler.

The tournament will be on Saturday, March 25th in Hammond Indiana!  Way to go Hornets!
