Biotechnical Engineering Students started raising trout in the classroom in January 2013. The fish started out about 1" in length. The students developed lesson plans for Washington STEM school 5th graders. The students taught these classes about trout. All of the students released the trout on Friday, May 10. Parents of Incoming Kindergarten Students,

We are thrilled to have your child coming to Washington STEM Academy next year. In an effort to mix the children into appropriate classes, by numbers of boys/girls and academic ability, we would like to have your child come to Washington STEM Academy on May 30, for a Pre-Kindergarten Assessment. We will spend about 15 minutes with your child to find out what skills he/she knows before entering Kindergarten. We believe that the more information we can gain about your child the better education we can provide.

You will need to call the Washington STEM Academy Office at 574-371-5097 to schedule an appointment time for your child. We ask that you make your appointment no later than May 23. Thank you for helping us make your child’s first year of school a positive experience.
